A GRAND Opening

Thursday, February 10th marked the official opening of dreamscapes design group, the brainchild of Rachel Edwards and Ernie Lewis. This dynamic design and marketing team created dreamscapes design group 3 years ago with a desire to provide clients with custom branding, web design, multi media design, custom illustration and marketing plans specific to our client's needs. Our grand open studio event on 11-A Main Street in Essex,CT was a complete success with over 100 invited guests and friends in attendance. Your support and referrals are greatly appreciated. 2008 sucked! 2009 was scary. 2010 was hopeful. Now we are all looking forward to 2011 with optimism.
I can't remember a time in my own life where everything was thrown into the air all at once and seemed to just hang there, taunting me. Never really settling so I can gather the pieces, collect my thoughts and move on. So I've decided not to wait anymore! I've decided to jump up, grab all those pieces and put them together, discard what I don't need and keep the lessons I've learned from the past 3 years. I welcome 2011 with open arms. I'm going to treat 2011 as an opportunity to make some personal changes, play great music with my best friends, be creative, build a business I'm passionate about, contribute by creating jobs for talented people and to enjoy my life. What are you going to do this year? What resolutions are you prepared to commit to?

Man! Has it been 6 months? Well I apologize. Yes I, not WE. I've been really busy getting my design business dreamscapes design group off the ground and playing A LOT! Wicked Peach has a crazy-busy summer schedule and so does 2 Cat Zoo. It's good to be busy, but it has taken me away from blogging. Well that's going to change! I will touch base with bloggers more often, I promise!
Well... I'm excited to announce the premier of our dynamic NEW web site! Our site needed a facelift and we're proud of the new look! Check it out! We have a summer chock full of great shows and we look forward to seeing you all!

You've been coming to see the band play for many, many years. Then on a beautiful night in September at one of our shows I forgot your name. It was a momentary lapse of recollection that I can't explain because I DO know your name, but whatever the case, I still forgot and I am sorry. I will never forget how disappointed you were and even a little hurt. We miss you and Deb and we hope you find it in your heart to forgive and forget. I will NEVER forget that I forgot.

America: Land of the RUDE?

Are we, as a country beginning to lose our collective minds? When did it become okay and mainstream to be rude just because we don't agree? Whatever happened to quiet dignity? What ever happened to actions speaking louder than words? What ever happened to being a good sport when you don't win? Since the presidential election the far right have been fanatical with ranting lies, scare tactics and heckling the president instead of reinventing and creating solutions. Kanye West jumped on stage and stole the spotlight from Taylor Swift in what was an obvious, pathetic self promotional stunt. And Serena Williams scolding a line judge in front of a huge crowd and on live TV because she didn't agree with the call. I can see this being a trend and I am personally ashamed that some of us just can't seem to keep our cool. It's okay to speak your mind but where is the line when it comes to being rude.

Hey y'all! First we want to thank all the great folks who came out this past weekend! Our premier at PLAYOFF'S PUB in Fall River, MA was a success and ONE PELHAM EAST in Newport, RI was off the hook!

We here at WP are currently filling in our 2010 schedule and will have our schedule page updated this week.

More WP Newz for 2010!

We are putting the final touches on our promotional disk which will have studio recordings of seven of our favorite cover tunes. It will be available at some of our shows by 2010. There will be a limited supply so we're trying to think of a clever way to give some out.

Stay tuned!

WP is also beginning to do some song writing. YES! We are dying to record some original music and began putting some songs together. Our goal is to have a disk out by spring 2010.

We are sad to announce that we will not be performing at Effin's Last Resort in North Smithfield, RI anymore. I guess we brought in too many people. We apologize to our peeps and remind you that we will try to make up some of the shows that were DROPPED on us at some point. In the meantime you can join us at the Luxury Box in Seekonk, MA on Saturday, September 26th.

I was at your show this past Saturday at Mohegan Sun

and Wicked Peach was AMAZING! I don't know if you

remember, but I was a part of Danielle's Bachelorette

party. I am the Maid of Honor and Danielle's sister and

I wanted her to have a great bachelorette party.

We ate at Margaritaville before you guys came on and

we weren't sure where the rest of the night was going

to take us. We were about to leave when Wicked Peach

performed. We wound up staying the rest of the night to

watch you guys. Wicked Peach was the best band I have

seen outside of a professional concert.

I just wanted to thank you for making my sister's night so

much fun. I live in the Bronx and hopefully Wicked Peach will

do a show in New York soon because the group who I was with

Saturday night has told everyone they know about the band.

Studio Magic Part II

Studio Magic!

The WP boys recently went to Triad Studios to record some tracks for promotional purposes. The synergy was amazing! The team work, unsurpassed! Here are Jon, Ernie and Stan having a discussion with our sound tech Jim Landry of Noll Guitars about the drum mix while Dan laid down some guitar tracks. It was so nice to get in the studio and relax and make beautiful music.

Wicked Kids!

Summer shows are what we look forward to each year. Not just because of the warm weather either. We also get the opportunity to play for some new fans! Our last 2 WP shows and our last 2 Cat Zoo show were a blast because of the kids! We loved the thousands of questions, and that was from one child! We loved autographing our band pictures. Our hands are still cramped. We also had a couple of guest appearances. Too cute! Yeah, we act like a hard rock band but these kids broke us down for sure. You win kiddies! Here at WP we have always tried to put an emphasis on quality shows to maintain an active music scene with fun, talented musicians and exciting performances. There are a handful of cover bands in the area and beyond who share the same creed as we do. We salute you!

It's a tough economic time for everyone and us working musicians are doing our best to play great shows and make our living doing what we love. We appreciate the people who know talented bands from the MANY "Cookie Cutter Cover Bands." Unfortunately these "CCCBs" make it tough for the rest of us to earn a living. Cover bands who are willing to play for nothing or next to nothing with a smile don't realize that they not only are they devaluing themselves, but musicians in general who earn their living playing music. This is killing the scene. In the meantime remember, spend your money wisely when you head out to see a band. We hope that this economy turns and these dime a dozen acts fall by the wayside so the true professionals can get back to work.

I've always had a love for music and art my whole life so it's fair to say that I feel privileged to be doing both to earn my living. Playing my guitar and singing in front of an audience is still such a thrill for me, but my other passion is art and graphic design. After graduating RISD I started as a freelancer under the name Elewisdesigns. That venture served its purpose but I needed to turn it up a notch. I wanted to collaborate with someone who could help me reach my ultimate goal of owning my own design studio. The best person I knew was Rachel Edwards who is a genius in the marketing field with a real eye for cutting edge design. Rachel and I brainstormed to create dreamscapes design group, a collaborative effort by 2 people with a shared passion for design. We create logos, brochures, websites, custom packaging, invitations, custom illustrations, etc... We do it all! Our new venture is starting to gain momentum and I have to say I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Dreamscapes is co-sponsoring the Wicked Peach show along with Pizzetta at Esker Point Beach on Thursday, July 16th and we want to see you all there!

WICKED PEACH would like to send our congratulations to the shiny, new husband and wife team of Josh and Carrie Prizer! They were kind enough to have us perform at their wedding this past Friday night at Harkness Park in Waterford, CT and it was a blast! Now, as many of you know, we are not a wedding band. But we pulled it off! And it was better than we expected, so we want to thank Josh and Carrie for helping us push our boundaries and get out of our comfort zone!

Another Wicked Weekend!

We hope that all of you had a great Memorial Day weekend. We here at the WP Camp certainly did! Whoo! We need a vacation from all the holiday activities!

We want to remind you of some of the great summer shows coming up. We have our premier at the ESKER POINT BEACH concert series on Thursday, July 16th. 6-8PM. Then we move the show over to PADDY'S BEACH on Saturday night, July 18th. 10PM. This will be our ONLY show at Paddy's for the season!

Join us for an afternoon concert at BALLARD'S on August 15th on Block Island 1PM, right on the beach!

We will kick off the summer this weekend at STASH'S CAFE in New London, CT on Friday, May 29th at 10PM. This will be our last Stash's show for the season. See you in the fall!

Then we're off to ONE PELHAM EAST in beautiful Newport, RI on Saturday, May 30th at 10PM. Newport, Wicked Peach and summer nights? Sounds like summer love to us!

2 Cat Zoo was an idea conceived by me back in 2003. A lot of local musicians were performing acoustically so I figured why not give it a try. There was only one person I had in mind as a partner and that was Dan Watson. At the time Dan was in Sugar Daddy and he explained that his schedule was too hectic and he would not be able to commit to the project. I moved on with the project with a female vocalist, but it didn't seem to be working so I put the project on hold.

I finally had enough! I tackled Dan one night as he was leaving Stash's Cafe and gave him a severe beating and told him if he valued his life, he would do this project with me. He gladly complied. Since then it's been a great 6 years... WOW! Has it been that long? We've built a very nice following and play great places. Check it out for yourself! Tonight (5/21) we will be at BRUNA'S TABLE on 12 Canal St. in Westerly, RI at 9PM. For all 2CZ dates go to myspace/2catzoo

When you're in a working rock band it is very difficult to find a warm, clean and safe place to get loud. Luckily we found the perfect place and wanted to share it with you. Jam Stage on 25 Esten Ave. in Pawtucket, RI is an affordable studio where any band can go to rehearse for an upcoming show, write music or just go to make some noise. Jam Stage is the perfect place!

Behind the band

As the band continues to evolve and reinvent ourselves throughout the years, there is one thing usually not mentioned...the crew behind the scenes. It takes more than just the band members to get this show up and running and we would like to finally take a moment to mention and give thanks to those who don't usually get any recognition for what they do.

Our sound techs Jim Landry of Noll Guitars and Jim Moulton of Moulton Sound. Having a great sound team is half the battle and with their experience and knowledge, we always know we will sound our best.

Our crew members Greg Cormier and Kevin Churchill wear many hats and are the best at getting the show up and running. They make sure the equipment is set up on time, the lighting is just right and are always there for anything and everything that comes up, including taking many of the pictures for our sites. In this business you never know what to expect. Kevin and Greg are always ready for anything with a professional attitude.

Bob Beaudoin has helped us with our mailing list, email blasts, web site and any promotional tasks we have needed since 1997. He is always there to lend a hand at helping us get our gig info to all our following.

Our team makes us look and sound great! It wouldn't be the same without them and we would like to say THANK YOU!!! Now... get back to work!
